Of Naphtali he said: O Naphtali, satisfied with favor and full of the blessing of the Lord, possess the Sea [of Galilee] and [its warm, sunny climate like] the south.

Theme:  Contending for the faith

We contend for the faith, and fight, not because the owner can’t do it for himself.

We do not work to alter the laws of God so that we can defend them, but to work with then as they are.

Read: Jude Verse 3

We contend for the faith that we were given, not because God can’t do it himself. We contend for what He has given us.

Read: Acts 6:7

1. We contend for the faith by obedience. Obedience sometimes can be very difficult. This is because we put our rights before/above the word that God has given us. Very few of us, Christians are willing to walk in total obedience.
Why?
It seems old fashioned to follow Christ fully.

Stand for the faith that you believe in

People just want their rights. We are so eager to be politically correct, but not to be Biblically correct.

Read: 1 Samuel 13:8ff;
Leviticus 10:1

God is the same, yesterday, today and forever. Sometimes introducing yourself as a pastor makes people treat you with more caution.

We need to call things as they truly are, without fear and favor.  Many Christians are afraid of pointing out the wrong they see in the world.

We must be ready to offend, if we are contending for the faith.  No matter the social status of an individual, contending for the faith involves picking out the wrong and calling people to repentance.

We aren’t willing to call sin out.

Shadrack, Meshach and Abednego stood courageously before the King, knowing that they could win or fail. They knew the sovereignty of God.

Mordecai was a watchman, but he didn’t compromise his stand before God, just for the sake for the high and the mighty in the nation.

Many of us are so careful to be like other people in the world.

They may be doing wonders and signs, but it needs someone be who is contending for the faith to say, “Signs and wonders aren’t proof that you are serving God.”

The Bible says, “We are the salt of the earth”, means ng that we will not necessarily be liked by all.

Lets not live as Kenyans, but as Christians.

Read: Philippians 3:12

Paul knew he hadn’t reached yet, but he still pressed on to attain the perfection found in Christ.
Let us walk on the road towards perfection, even if we haven’t yet attained perfection.
One day we will understand the will of God. In the meantime, we contend for Him.

Read: Acts 17:10-11

The Bereans checked and re-checked the word over and over again to ascertain that the word was as they we’re being taught.

Contend for the faith

A Christian who seeks to contend for the faith just know what that faith and the word says.

They that compromise get counterfeit /fake blessings and those don’t even last.

Trust the timing of God, for the things that you want in your own life.
